Live streaming suicides on the rise as Facebook takes measures

In the latest online craze, people are killing themselves live on their social media accounts as the human race continues to devalue life and make a mockery of others’ suffering.

At it’s highest levels in 30 years, suicide is becoming an online show for the modern human. Two incidents occurred in January 2017 on Facebook involving the live streaming suicide of two of the social media website’s users. Facebook has not taken the situation lightly and is implementing new features to help prevent these types of events from happening.

Introducing the Facebook Safety Center. It’s a multi language page with all kinds of information on bullying, suicide hotlines, as well as additions to the Facebook report tool. Users will now be able to flag a post to obtain “advise” on how to talk to the friend or make a request for Facebook to send the user some helpful resources.

Kudos to Facebook for seeming to care about it’s users. It’s a small measure from a giant company that can save countless lives in reality all kidding aside.

In a world where we broadcast every aspect of our lives this all seems so inevitable.

We’ll be standing by for the next live streaming atrocity.

Would you watch an online suicide or have you already?

I am the bringer of low blows. I'm awful and it shows. I'm hopeful and yet... no one knows. I like the truth and am a fan of weird stuff. I also like things. You too? I knew we had something in common. Bacon.
