40 year old man found hanging in a tree in front of Las Vegas home

OK, this is weird. About 5 houses down from where I sit and write this here in Spring Valley, Las Vegas, a man was found hanging from a tree in front of one of our neighbor’s houses!

Friday night about 8pm my fiance and I started getting ready to go pick up her daughter from her music lessons at School of Rock west on Flamingo. We left as usual around a quarter after and noticed a car sitting on the corner with a young man texting or something. We wondered what was up but didn’t think much of it as it’s a spot on the street where you would pull over to type a text or make a call safely. Shortyly after picking up her daughter we got a call on the way home from my girl’s son who was back at the house saying that there were cops everywhere and a fire engine. We hurried home and saw the street full of activity. Super unusual for this neighborhood, it’s really quiet around here usually. We weren’t quite sure what was going on and thought it best to stay in the house in case anything like a stand off was going on or something else dangerous. After several hours authorities dispersed.

It was later reported by Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Peter Kisfalvi that a 40 year old man who did not live at the residence was found hanging from a tree in the front yard. A caller (whom I suspect was the guy in the car when my girl and I left home) reported the hanging man stating that he wasn’t sure whether the body was a Halloween decoration or not. No other statements were given.

As we said, this is a really quiet neighborhood so this is for sure out of the ordinary and a strange case indeed.
